This piece is an experiential review written as the result of a virtual tour of the Louvre. It is an example of another type of content writing that demonstrates the ability to express actual experiences to an audience. To do this requires keen perception and understanding of the audience’s needs and the ability to translate experiences into words.

The Louvre, or the Louvre Museum, is the largest art museum in the world and one of Paris, France’s historic monuments. It is located on the Right Bank of the Seine and is a landmark of the city. Because of covid, it is presently closed. I visited Paris in 2019 but was unable to visit the Louvre because of time constraints so I decided to take a virtual tour.
Virtual tours of the Louvre Museum are available just by clicking on a link https://www.louvre.fr/en/visites-en-ligne, the link transports you into a totally different world of visual sensory experiences. The site has plenty of options. The virtual tours are themed and focus on the “Petite Galerie.” There are seven different rooms to choose from each with different collections. One of the rooms I chose to visit was the collection called “The Advent of the Artist,” this room exhibited works of various artists as they transitioned from “anonymous craftsman of the classical period to artists of the renaissance.” Inside this room, you can see artwork by some of the most famous artists in history, such as Rembrandt, Delacroix, and more. Once arriving at the room you have a 360-degree view navigated by moving your mouse you can zero in on each artwork and by clicking on the work it will enlarge while also getting an informational blowup about the artist and work (see screenshot below).

The Louvre was once a fortress, it was built by the French king Philippe Auguste. Originally it was built to reinforce the defenses built in 1190 to protect Paris from attack. The Louvre’s construction took place in a span of over three hundred years it exemplifies traditional French architecture. The pyramid built in front of the museum building has become an integral part of the museum and a landmark itself the picture below shows its beauty. Click the picture for a tour.
I enjoyed the virtual tour it is well suited for the times we are now in with covid everywhere the virtual tour is a welcomed diversion. I still plan to visit this attraction in the near future and now that I know what to expect I can plan better and utilize my time wisely.
